World Red Cross Day is observed annually on 8th May to
celebrate the principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent
Movement. This day recognizes the selfless efforts of volunteers and staff
around the globe who help people during natural disasters, conflicts, and
health emergencies.
Today, 8th May 2025, on the occasion of World Red Cross Day,
a workshop was organised in Cynthia Senior Secondary School, Haldwani. In which
the Red Cross In charge Mr. Bipin Chandra Joshi addressed students of class
10th, 11th and 12th and told them about the need and importance of such units
in human life in today's scenario.
The workshop started with the welcome of Mr. Vipin Chandra
Pandey by the principal Dr. Pravindra Kumar Rautela followed by lamp lightening
and welcome song by the students.
He addressed the students and gave important tips regarding
first aid, CPR, fracture, injuries etc.
Each year, World Red Cross Day is celebrated with a specific
theme. The theme for 2025 is “Humanity in Action”, highlighting the role of
volunteers in crisis and community care.
World Red Cross Day serves as a reminder of the importance
of compassion, volunteerism, and helping others in times of need.
The workshop took place in the presence of Mr. Pradeep Mitra
(Academic coordinator), Mrs Richa Karnatak (Activity Coordinator), Mr. B.C.
Sati, Mrs Hema Tewari, Mrs Neema Pandey, Mr. I.D Joshi, Mr. Prakash Sharma, Mr.
S.S. Krpkoti, Mr Pushkar Singh Rajput, Mrs Tulsi Sharma, Mr. V. S. Bajetha, Ms
Bhumika Tewari, Ms Komal Bisht, Mr. Tribhuwan Joshi. The program was anchored
